Beginning from Mumbai’s sightseeing, the tour enters Kerala through Kochi - a city built on scattered islands. Sandwiched between the sea and backwaters, Kochi is a traveller’s delight preserving traces of time in the form of Chinese fishing nets, forts and churches. Munnar, the jewel in Kerala’s crown is the next in itinerary featuring sensory delights of tea and cardamon greens over a vast expanse. The picturesque reserve of Periyar portrays the wild richness of the state. And finally at Kumarakom, one gets the most awaited experience of God’s own country, which is a timeless cruise to backwater canals.

Day 01 : Arrive Mumbai

The city of Mumbai (Bombay) is called the commercial capital of India and besides being a major port, it's also a great industrial centre and a cosmopolitan city. Full day sightseeing of the city visiting Mani Bhawan, Prince of Wales Museum, Chawpati Beach, Gateway of India etc. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 : Mumbai/ Cochin

Morning visit elephanta Caves across Gateway of India. Later fly to Cochin or Kochi - a city built on scattered islands. What makes Cochin unique isthat the city straddles the portion of land between the Arabian Sea and themouth of the backwaters. Cochin was born in a storm, nurtured in rivalry and established as the crossroads of the battling empires of Europe - thePortuguese, the Dutch and the British. In the 1340's, torrential rains filled the Periyar River which broke into the Arabian Sea and formedCochin's protected harbour. Trading ships soon sailed in and out. The muchphotographed Chinese fishing nets at the harbour-mouth best seen at sunset,testify to Cochin's pre European associationwith China. Upon arrivaltransfer to the hotel, rest of the day at leisure.

Day 03 : Cochin

On our tour of Cochin this morning, we will visit, the Jewish Synagogue. This is one of the oldest synagogues and was constructed in 1568. The original building was unfortunately destroyed by the Portuguese but was later rebuilt Later tour the Dutch Palace .. well known for its mural paintings. We will also see the Chinese fishing nets in operation ... at the entrance of Kochi harbour .. they are a fascinating sight! In the evening we will see a traditional Kathakali dance performance. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Cochin / Munnar

Today we drive to Munnar - the jewel in Kerala's crown. This clean green hill station perehes 5000 feet above sea I eve I , surrounded by the country's highest tea gardens, among some of the most stunning mountains in the Western Ghats. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we take a promenade into Munnar town ... .with the day free to enjoy nature. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 : Munnar / Periyar

Today we drive to Periyar, one of the most picturesque reserves in India. A dam constructed on the Periyar liver in 1895 led to the submersion of a 'Iarge forest area and the formation of a 55 sq. km lake, which assured the local wildlife a perennial source of water and led to its rapid multiplication Upon arrival transfer to the hoteL In the afternoon we will enjoy a boat ride on the lake to view game. We will also see some spice gardens. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 : Periyar / Kumarakom

Morning we will drive to Kumarakom. As we drive from the hills to the plains, tea plantations give way to rubber trees and hundreds of water canals make their way to Cochin. At Kumarakomwe will be transferred from the jetty by a boat to our hotel. Afternoon we will cruise the famous backwaters of Kerala. Overnight at the hotel.
