Day 1: Paro - Thimpu
Arrive
Paro & transfer to Thimpu. (65 kms / 2 hrs). Upon arrival transfer to your
hotel. Later in the evening visit Tashichhodzong (after 5 PM). Overnight at
hotel.
Day 2: In Thimpu
This morning you will visit BBS Tower to enjoy an aerial view of the Thimpu
Valley, the Mini Zoo, Anim Dratshang (Nunnery), National Library, paper factory
and Memorial Chorten. In the afternoon you will be taken to School of Art
and Craft, Zangthopelri Lhakang and Handicrafts Emporium. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Thimpu - Trongsa
Today you will be transferred to Trongsa via Wangdue and Pelela Pass (215
kms / 7 hrs). Afternoon depart on a sightseeing tour of Trongsa Dzong and
Ta Dzong. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Trongsa - Bumthang
This morning transfer to Bumthang (68 kms / 2.5 hrs). Today visit Jampa Lhakhang,
Kurjey Lhakhang. Afternoon visit Jakar Dzong and Swiss FarmHouse. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 5: Bumthang - Punakha
Today you proceed to Punakha (210 kms / 7.5 hrs), enroute you will view Wangdiphordrang.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Punakha - Paro
This
morning visit Punakha Dzong and then proceed to Paro (130 / 4.5 hrs). Afternoon
at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: In Paro
This morning visit Durugyel Dzong or the Fort of Drupka Victory. This is a
historical site from the ramparts of which the Bhutanese repelled the Tibetan
invaders, time and again. Later proceed to Taktsang Monastery, 'Tiger's Nest'
situated 3000 feet above the valley floor. This afternoon visit Paro Dzong,
the National Museum housed in an ancient watchtower, which has the finest
collection of Tankha Paintings the world over. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Depart Paro
Transfer from hotel to airport for your onward journey.
