Day 01: Arrival Cochin
On arrival at Cochin Airport / Railway Station, you are greeted and
whisked away to historic Willingdon Island. In Cochin, explore this
ancient harbour, with its rich colonial past. Upon arrival transfer to the
hotel. Later explore the old spice market at Mattancherry, the antique
shop on Jew's street, the Synagogue, the Dutch palace and of course, the
famous Chinese fishing nets followed by harbour cruise. Overnight stay at
the hotel.
Day 02: Cochin - Thekkady (170 km- 5 hrs)
After breakfast, you leave the coastal plain, traveling winding hill roads
with plantations of rubber, spice and tea, 170 kms and 05 hrs. Upon
arrival transfer to the hotel, later afternoon is reserved for a boat
safari in the Periyar Sanctuary. Engage in activities like Cooking
demonstration and cultural programme followed by dinner. Overnight stay at
the hotel.
Day 03: Thekkady
Early mornings are the best time for sightings and you can expect to spot
herds of elephants, bison, deer and spectacular bird life. Not to mention
some of the 140 species of orchid that thrive here. A trip to Periyar is
not complete without visiting the spice plantations. Afternoon at leisure.
Overnightstay at the hotel.
Day 04 : Thekkady - Kumarakom
After breakfast, depart for Kumarakom, 130 kms and 04 hrs. On arrival
check into the hotel. Spend the day at leisure. In the evening, enjoy a
sunset cruise on the Vembanad Lake. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 05 : Kumarakom
Early morning go for bird watching at the bird sanctuary. Later come back
to the hotel. After breakfast visit to the farm house. Rest of the day at
leisure. Over night stay at Kumarakom.
Day 06 : Kumarakom - Marari / Alleppey
After breakfast, enjoy a session of Yoga. Thereafter, proceed to Alleppey,
30 kms and 01 hrs. Upon arrival, check into hotel. After lunch, enjoy the
day at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 : Marari
In the morning, enjoy a session of Yoga. After breakfast, explore the area
and it's fishing villages nearby on a bicycle or take a dip in the sea..
Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Departure Marari - Cochin
Depart as per schedule to the Airport/ Railway station at Cochin, 80 kms
and 02 hrs, to connect onto your flight back home.
